Cinematic Storytelling
From May 1st to 4th, 2019

Join Formento + Formento as they share their expertise in a weekend workshop for artists. The course will cover the emotional, cinematic, staged process. The strategies, experiences and influences that form and shape a photographer’s career. BJ and Richeille will describe in detail the intricate process of approaching a body of work from the inspiration and conception, the tone and construction, the casting, the styling and lighting and finally the exhibition of the works. The Formento’s will candidly present their work and provide answers to the elusive questions all photographers ask themselves: Who am I as an artists? What does my work say? How can I express myself more creatively? How can I improved on my existing skills? How can I put together a coherent and visually sophisticated photographic series?

This workshop in full immersion’s goal is to learn how to create a new series and develop your own heightened visual language and photographic identity, it aims in developing the aptitude of the participant to carry out a photography project. This experience will allow the participant to develop their capacity to produce a photographic work in a given location and throughout a given limited time period. The honest review of student portfolios will follow, and each student will receive personalized invaluable feedback and guidance on each participant’s work and tasks for improvement.
