Settimio Benedusi was born in Imperia in 1962. He is a professional photographer, with a Studio in Milan since 1990.
He works as fashion and advertising photographer (Versace, Persol, Yamamay…) and portraits photographer (Armani, Berlusconi, Missoni …), collaborating with all major publishers. Precursor of internet sharing, he has been updating a blog constantly since 2003, with over 5 million pages views: http://www.benedusi.it/blog/
He joined the journalists’ order in 2000, is a free collaborator at IED European Design Institute, and contributes to Corriere delle Sera’s, leading Italian newspaper, since 2010.
He is the only Italian photographer to have collaborated with the International Edition of Sports Illustrated for 7 consecutive years, with 2 covers.
He went to Uganda to make a reportage for CBM Italia with Filippa Lagerback and to Haiti for NPH with Martina Colombari.
In 2016, he gave a personal exhibition dedicated to the memory of his father at the Leica Gallery of Piazza Duomo in Milan.
In 2016, to verify if Photography can still have a real value, besides the likes of social networks, he walked from Imperia to Milan traveling without money, but trying to swap food/beverages/a place to sleep for photographs: he made it!
He loves to sum up the many characteristics of a person in a simple act and the image that he likes to associate with himself is the one of a person that never throws the paper on the floor.
